Assume=Ass + U+ Me
According to dictionary.com "Ass"means:

| 3. | a stupid, foolish, or stubborn person. |
So the word "Assume" consist the word "ASS-U-ME"......
Try to think why we were to be the "U" and "ME" for the word "ASS"(stupid/Foolish) and mess things up? Kapisch?
